NFL players quota filled
Sharks have filled up the maximum quota of 25 players with 2 additional signings, just in time for their eligibity for the opening game against Crescent Villa on Saturday. Utility player Muhammad Hamdani impressed the manager with his versatility in the last game against UPS and he commented, ‘Every team needs a utility player as you never know what is going to happen during a game. Dani fits that profile and hopefully he will do well despite having only a single game with the rest of the team.’
The other signing for the club was the surprise capture of Mohammad Na’eem who is no stranger to the team after managing to score on 2 occasions against them while turning out for AIG FC in the ESPZEN competition. ‘We all know what he can do,’ said the manager.
He added, ‘It’s definitely great to have him in the side though initially, we had wanted him for the Islandwide League last year. Nonetheless, he’s here now and it certainly look like an exciting prospect to have him alongside chief striker Heng Li and new boy Sham spearheading the attack. Every team needs a goalscorer and in the three of them, we just hope that they can find their feet in the competition.’
In other team news, Kim Hwa has been ruled out for two weeks after he succumbed to an ankle injury last weekend, off a bad tackle at Braddell-Westlake while Ramdzan has also been ruled out of this week opener while he serve his reservist with SCDF. Third choice custodian Daniel Tan is also out of the clash after injuring his back against Interlink FC last Sunday.
