Newton Heath v Central Park
Three mistakes were all that was needed to condemn the Sharks to their ninth defeat of the season against their bogey team, Newton Heath. A late goal by the Sharks thru Heng Li in the first half gave the Sharks a glimpse of a chance in the second half but with Newton closing shop, chances for the Sharks were few and far between. Even when the chances fell for the Sharks, they were unable to capitalise with Jeremy hitting the post off a free-kick in the second-half. The match started brightly for the Sharks with the opponents being pegged back for the first 15mins of the game. Against the run of play however, Kelvin finally got his wish when he scored his first ever goal albeit against his own team with a first time 'volley' from the edge of the area which would make any top striker proud. Just as quickly, Newton came up with a second goal before Sharks stand-in goalkeeper Isa committed the cardinal sin of conceding a soft goal. Li managed to pulled a goal back just before half-time.
The Sharks unavailability of attacking players on the bench meant that they were unable to push man forward to get back into the game and thus were left to rue yet another defeat.
