Sharks were handed a heavy defeat in the hands of Interstar FC after they were gunned down 7-0 in an insipid display. Down by 4 goals at half-time, the opposition added another trio of goals in the second-half to notch their third win in five games while the woeful display by the boys in yellow left much to be desired.
Interstar were off to an early start when Al-Aminur who is making his debut for the team misjudged the flight of the header off a corner as Interstar took an early lead. Shortly afterwards, it was a series of comical errors from the defense which lead to the second. Just before half-time, Interstar added another 2 to take a commanding 4-0 lead at halftime. Second-half weren't much better as Sharks were constantly slower to the ball and weaker in challenges as they were humbled yet again with three more goals by the end of the game. Jeremy had an opportunity to score Sharks consolation goal at the death by his shot missed by just a whisker off the post.
The manager said after the game, 'The scoreline says it all but its the manner on how the goals were scored. Poor markings during corners allowed them to get 3 goals. 2 more goals could have prevented but there's no cover from the middle while the rest of the goals, it just seemed that every shot somehow found the back of the net.'
He added, 'There were just lack of fight from the boys today but to be fair, the scoreline could have been worse.'
