Sharks stretched their unbeaten run to 5 games but were unable to register their 5th win on the trot after being held to a goaless draw against Tuan Gemuk Athletic at Cantonment on Sunday. Robert managed to put the ball into the net but it was ruled offside as the International team felt they were clearly robbed of a vital win with this being one of two bad decisions against the team.

The International team had to make do with a makeshift custodian for the game as Soerensen was handed the gloves in the first half while the baton was passed to Iskandar for the second. Both did well between the post as the match looked to be a battle of the 2 goalkeepers from each side. Play was scrappy in the first half but Tuan Gemuk had the upper hand as the game wore on towards the end of the first half. Sharks lost much impetus in attack as they clearly struggle against the opposition brute strength in midfield while last weekend goal hero had to limped off after just 15mins with a groin injury. Second half were even with both teams setting up their stall in attack and defense but Sharks created more clearcut chances but were often denied by Tuan Gemuk quick and agile custodian. Right on 55th minute, Sharks were bemused when Soerensen who went thru enroute to goal were being held back and the defender only escaped with a yellow card. While the Sharks soldered on for the elusive goal, they finally found the back of the net but it was ruled offside as both teams shared the spoils.

The manager commented, 'The goal might be a little contentious and while we could give the benefit of doubt to the referee for that call, he clearly got it all wrong for that foul on Soerensen. It's this kind of call that give rise to tension on the field and the last time he did that was the game against White Wolfton.'
