There are 1001 ways and reasons to come up for anything when things doesn't go as plan. The weather, the pitch, the referee, the attendance of the day or even luck seemed to be the bane of social teams when things doesn't really go their way. No team is invincible no matter what time of the day a match kicks off or whoever comes to don the team's jersey on match day, everyone is part of the team. At the end of a weekend's match, sometimes team just have to come up and say that they lose to a better team, period. This was such a day.
No excuses on whoever was donning the club's jersey and when the result was overwhelmingly not in your favor, a team have to just stand up that say that they are just not good enough. Not for the lack of trying or even because some so called 'first eleven' player wasn't playing. At the end of the day, it's all about social football or better known as Sunday football. Are there such a thing as first eleven in Sunday football? Coming back to the game, Sharks were thought a lesson in simple football where the ball does the work for the team. It was nothing fanciful but the opposition whom Sharks have met quite sometime back was coming out tops in every department and it was no surprise that the boys in yellow were reduced to just a single shot at goal courtesy of Murugesan who could have brought the deficit down to 1-2 midway into the 2nd half after the opposition took an early lead in the first few minutes. At half-time, Sharks were left to ponder on a 0-3 deficit.
In the second half, rather than be saying the Sharks capitulated, ISA just nick every amount of space they had the luxury to pound further pressure on their opponents and were duly rewarded to bring the score to 8-0 at full-time. It could have well been double figures if not for the heroics of Michael in goal who seemed to be leading a one-man battle against the barrage of ISA attacks. Final score 8-0, no excuses, no reasons and weather was fine. One just have to stand up and applaud the way Sharks were taught a lesson or two from the much younger counterparts.
The manager commented, 'The scoreline says it all, we were just outplayed in every department today.
