Central Park International poor start to the new season takes another blow as they went down 2-3 to Gabrielite Remix on Sunday. Despite taking the lead twice in each half from a double by Mond Na'eem, Sharks soon ran out of gas as they succumbed to the lively Gabrielite Remix boys.

Sharks started the game brightly and they soon take an early lead when the opposition was caught flatfooted in defense from Aaron Huang's long punt and Na'eem was on hand to give his team the lead when he powered his shot into the net after eluding his marker. The forward could have added another double in the next 10 minutes of the game when he side-footed the custodian only for ball to be cleared off the line. Shortly afterwards, his excuisite chip beat the custodian but he was denied by the crossbar. That seemed to awaken the opposition as they began to impose themselves on the game. They took the initiation after some terrible defending by the Sharks off a throw-in and the static defense was caught cold. The score remained that way till half-time. Second half started with the opposition starting just like they finished in the first half and with both teams not making any real break-thru, the battle was in midfield with possession at a premium. Nonetheless, Sharks took the lead yet again from Na'eem. After his initial shot rebounded off the post, Na'eem took the ball yet again shrugging off two markers with a cool finish. The lead though didn't last long as the opposition equalised shortly much to the dismay of the players. As both teams looked for the winner, Gabrielite made that extra push upfront and were duly rewarded with the winner 10 minutes before time.

The manager commented, 'We lacked defensive ability as a whole from the team today and were duly punished.'
