Match Report

With the festivities looming, it seems that a win will be the perfect tonic before they go on a 2 week break as Christmas and New Year looms near. But it all went wrong as the Sharks had to come back twice to level the game before a late goal in the first half meant that Crescent Rovers went into the break with a slim 3-2 lead. Rovers drew first blood after an embarrassing mistake by Sharks custodian Aaron who came off his line and were caught napping after Rovers scored direct off their first corner of the game. Heng Li levelled things up before a mixup in defence between Salihin and Irman allowed Rovers to take the lead yet again. Yet again, Heng Li bailed the team out before Rovers take the lead yet again to go a goal up on the break.

The first half horror show by the Sharks did not went unnoticed as the manager fired up his players to try and get something from this tie. Try as hard as they could, they just simply couldn't break down Rovers defence who seemed to have closed it's stall and depended on catching the Sharks on the break. Heng Li went closest to level the game for the 3rd time only for his chip shot to be cleared off the line in the dying moments of the game. At the end of a goalless second-half, Rovers hand on to take full points from the tie.
