Match Report

Central Park started the match with a striker crisis on hand as the duo of Heng Li and Isaac Mong had to give the game a miss and if that wasn't bad enough, Naem Rohman was given his marching orders in the 2nd half which worsen the the crisis but that didn't dampen the Sharks as they came back twice in the game and found the winner right at the death of the game thru some sheer determination from midfielder Muzzammil to snatch all 3 points right from the opposition who surely deserve at least a point from the encounter.

Sharks started the game with a makeshift front line with Kamal partnering Naem and their unfamiliarity were clear as both players doesn't seemed to be able to conjure up anything meaningful upfront. With no clear target man for the Sharks, things got worse when Raptors took full advantage after some poor defending early in the game. Twenty minutes on, Izwan came in for the ineffectual Kamal and the change somewhat provided some form of attacking impetus for the team but clearly they were missing the cutting edge from the team's striking duo. It was up to captain Jeremy to bring the game to parity when he notched his 10th competitive goal for the club with a beautifully flighted freekick just outside the box slightly before half-time. The second-half saw Izwan creating a nuisance of himself in front of goal but it didn't trouble the resolute Raptor's defense and right on the half-hour, the opposition took the lead with a goal which looked suspiciously offside. Naem though didnt help matter when he got himself booked for a strong challenge just after the hour mark and shortly afterwards, he got his marching orders for retaliation which was clearly deserved. The 10 man Sharks though didn't give up and they were soon rewarded when a stinging Helmy's corner was met with a pin-point header off Izwan which was probably the shortest man on the field. As the game looked headed for a draw, Muzzammil showed his sheer determination when he side-step his marker and despite being pulled back by a sea of defenders, he stood his ground and put the ball past the stranded custodian.

The manager said, 'It was a great game from both sides and while the result was disappointing for the opposition who at least deserve a point, full marks for the Sharks who kept going despite playing with 10 man in the 2nd half and kept going.'
