In a weekend which were supposed to be a double-header for the Sharks playing side by side over at Bukit Timah started on a very poor note when Sharks game which was scheduled at 3pm were rescheduled to 5pm much to the disgust of everyone involved. When the match finally went on, it was a mere makeshift side that took the pitch.
It wasn't a surprise when Sharks were kept on the backfoot for the duration of the game and when they do get their opportunities in front of goal, Loco's custodian proved to be more than a stumbling block make several instictive saves to cut off the danger. If things wasn't worse enough, Heng Li had to limp out of the game midway in the first-half with a hamstring injury which will keep him out for several weeks. Shortly afterwards, Loco took the lead when a speculative shot found the back of the net leaving Budihati stranded. The scoreline remained till half-time with the defensive trio of Kelvin, Ridzman, Matthew and Adrian working their socks off to keep their team in the game. Second-half wasn't any difference as Sharks kept their soak and strike strategy in check while Loco looked intent to increase their lead. Jeremy Tan who was pulling the strings in midfield tried to conjour up some creativity in the middle but were often snuff out quickly. Chances fell to both teams particularly to the boys in yellow but they often found Loco's custodian in fine form as Kit and Hamdani found it out. Just as the game looked to be headed for a defeat for the Sharks, Kelvin's freekick were flapped by the impressive opposition custodian and into the net for the equaliser with ten minutes remaining. Both teams came close to notch the winner with the opposition hitting the bar while Hamdani skived his shot when he came one-on-one with the custodian.
The manager said, 'The fixtures mix-up aside, the boys did well considering what we had today. Though we have to rue the opportunities we had at the end of the game, in truth both teams doesn't deserve to lose today and a draw is a fair result.'
