Central Park v Cosmos Santos

Sharks looked to build on their run of 2 victories in this match against leaders Cosmos Santos but they knew it would be an uphill task after they went down 2 - 6 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and with the leaders going on an unbeaten streak since May.

The match went into a frantic pace right from the kickoff with both teams utilizing on fast breaks and it became obvious from then on that the team who blink first will have to pay the price. While both sets of players were focused on the game, Sharks Kelvin Tan had to blink first when he slotted home with a striker's finish off an innocuous cross from the right with no pressure or was there according to him after the game. Just before that, Cosmos had one of their players limped off the field and off to the hospital after a 50-50 challenge from Irman with the Cosmos player coming off worse. Despite the setback, Sharks were determined to get back into the game but just couldn't thread the final ball into the attacking half. Chances were few and far between for both teams with the main action involving in midfield with both teams fighting fiercely for possessions. In the second-half and with a goal down, the Sharks tried yet again against a stubborn Cosmos's defence but they conceded yet another goal with a fast counter from Cosmos's bullet train in the form of their wingers who just kept running for the duration of the game. The curtain then began to fall in the form of the rain and just before the game was stopped due to thunders, Cosmos scored yet another goal to bring the game to an end with a 3-0 scoreline. Sharks however weren't disappointed with the defeat as while they could match Cosmos's in tenacity, they just weren't able to match the pace which almost all the teams in the campaign have problem with.
