Central Park v Blues
Sharks registered a morale boosting victory over Blues FC in their last warm-up game before they embark on their league debut next week with Daniel scoring his first ever goal for the Sharks to give his team an early lead while Heng Li grabbed 4 goals to bring his tally to 11 in 6 games. The margin of victory was unexpected after several Sharks players pulled out and it meant that the team was stretched to its barebones with only 1 substitute on the bench. With the players mind set on next weekend league game, the Sharks were intend to avoid unnecessary injury which would dampen their preparations. Thus it was unexpected when Sharks quickly raced to a 3 goal lead in the space of the opening 20 minutes. Blues FC were caught flat-footed on several occasions and only showed their true potential after conceding the third goal. Their hard-work paid off when Sarhan was pressured into giving position inside the box and ultimately he had to bring down his man in the area. It was no surprise when the man in black awarded a penalty which Blues FC had no problem dispatching pass the stranded Sharks custodian Isa.
In the second-half, Heng Li completed his hat-trick after rounding off the opponent's custodian to take the Sharks back into a comfortable 3 goal lead before the referee awarded Blues yet another penalty after Jiawen was adjudged to man-handle the Blues striker. This time however, Blues striker smashed the ball off the crossbar and it was cleared to safety. Sharks rounded their game when Heng Li scored a beautiful chip 10 minutes to time after a mistake by the Blues defence. But the action was far from over when the referee awarded yet another penalty. This time when Isa brought down the Blues striker on a one-on-one situation. Blues however made no mistake this time before the referee blew for the final whistle to end the match.
