Central Park v AK

Sharks kicked off their Goal Arena Amateur League campaign by grabbing all 3 points with a 6-1 win against AK FC. The team however had the worst possible start when AK FC grabbed the lead against the run of play when the entire Sharks defence were caught out in the slippery surface and AK forwards made no mistake on a one-one situation with Sharks custodian Isa. One mistake, one goal down. That was probably a wake-up call to the boys in yellow. They boys then restarted the match with more purpose and got the breakthrough they craved when Heng Li grabbed the equaliser just after 10mins going a goal down. A goal each from Ejaaz and Suhaime provided the Sharks with a much needed boost to end the first half with a 3-1 lead. The second-half started with AK trying to get back into the game but Sharks midfield held firm and were always a foot faster than their counterparts. Further from Heng Li, Jeremy and Brendan sealed the win for the Sharks. Credit to AK FC for a game which was tough and fair. With both teams coming to play football as it should be, the referee had an easy task with no bookings from both sides.
