BLAS v Central Park
They took the lead with the first kick of the game when BLAS defence misjudged the flight of the ball, enabling Zul to sidestep the custodian and new boy Sofie had the simplest of task to stroke the ball home into an empty net. Perhaps the game is similar to their first encounter on 16th May when lady luck decides to desert the Sharks yet again. While it is easy to say luck was not on the Sharks side this time round, how else could one explain when the custodian managed to save a blinder from Salihin's free-kick 10 yards from goal? And what about Zul's ferocious shot after great work from Suhaime's on the left? It was definitely one of those days when even if the game had gone for another 40 minutes, the Sharks would not score again. Despite that, there were no excuses for the Sharks to go down to their heaviest defeat this season. More so there is no excuse for the team to concede no less than 8 foul throws. Other than that, the defence simply crumble at every BLAS attack. The midfield were non-existence and the forwards....were just not making their presence felt upfront. A look at the line-up only reveals 3 absentees from their last game. So what really went wrong will remain a mystery this time round. Like the saying goes, 'The ball is round......'
On another note though, it's not the end of the world and the Sharks will move on from their defeat and hopefully learn from this defeat. The Sharks were just not good enough on this day.
