Football Manager 2008
Football Manager 2008

Who needs a pseudo Nani, a John Terry or even a Ronaldo in the team? In case you got the wrong idea, no. We aren’t talking about ESPZEN or some teams in the league. We are talking about the greatest football management simulation game produced by SEGA and from the people who brought us the cult game Championship Manager series from Sports Interactive. The launch of the latest instalment of the simulation management game, Football Manager 2008 have brought not only much anxiety from fans of the game, it somehow brought much joy to whoever is involved in Central Park Football Club. For those who are not accustomed to the game or even have ever heard of the game, it’s a football simulation game whereby you take control of a team ranging from Sleague to even the much famed Premiership, Spanish La Liga or even the Serie A. Think you can do a better job than Alex Ferguson or Martin Jol? Then this is the game for you as you take charge of the team and choose your best lineup as you seek for local and regional domination. Take control of your club’s transfer budget, signings and even tactical decision. If that’s your cup of tea, then this is the game for you.

The latest instalment of the series not only feature much advanced match engine and several eye-candy as compared to its predecessor which is a norm for every new series of the game, this time round, it features Central Park Football Club as one of the non-league teams in the game. Though the downside of the game has always been the Sleague as the only playable local league in the game, that doesn’t dampen the players and management of the team to somehow make full use of the availability of the majority of Sharks players, sign them up for their favorite team and see how they perform at a bigger stage. A little far-fetched some might say but hey, it’s a gaming world after all and it seems having a web presence is finally paying off as from the data collated for the game, it seems the information has been extracted from the Sharks website and an interesting data from the game was, since when did our homeground was Tanglin Pitch? Oh well, we are talking about the gaming world after all.

We have enough of the likes of Nani, John Terry and Ronaldos wannabe in the real world, let’s get some real Sunday Footballer in your team! As the saying goes, it’s not everyday that your name appear in some internationally acclaimed game. So grab your copy at any good gaming store now.

In the meantime, here are some screenshots of the game;
