Life in Division 3
12/04/11

Sharks were still reeling and licking on their wounded pride as Season 15 kicked off last weekend against Barclays Capital. The nature of the league has changed over the couple of seasons with a severe lack of gap in-between seasons that somehow, the games are coming thick and fast.

With the club's ambiguity of being relegated from Division 2; their first since their foray into competitive football, the management's intent is clear from the onset; to get back into Division 2. The intention comes at the back of several trialist being called upon in the past few weeks but the manager commented, 'It has always been the club's nature to get in a few new faces for a new season and this season is no different.'

Life in Division 3 kicked off with a victory for Sharks against rivals Barclays Capital which they have met no less than 9 times. The line-up of the division saw several familiar teams with the likes of Matador, FC Socheaux, Singapore Vikings and Hibs. Eastern Vale and Team H made up the rest of the division.

The manager tried to play down his team chances and retorted, 'We started last season brightly but it went downhill, thus the opening victory isn't just a reflection of the team. We just need to keep digging in and play to our strength.'

Sharks next match would be against Matador FC who they have faced twice back a couple of seasons ago which ended as a victory to the boys in yellow and a draw thus the team expects that the match would be close. The highlight of the match would be the venue; a first for almost the whole team. When asked if his boys will be overawed, the manager just smiled and said, 'It's going to be a great opportunity for everyone but at the end of the day, it's still about capturing 3 points.'
