Kick-off to new season

After coming out tops in their play-off game against FECA FC on 7th January, Central Park will resume the league proper on the 21st January as their new season kicks off over at Ang Mo Kio ITE against Raptors FC. Going back into its archives, the Sharks had only one previous meeting with the Raptors on 18th July 2004 over at Tanglin Pitch. The result was in favor of the opposition as the Sharks Reserves went down 2-3 in that friendly match.

The rest of the competitors will feature AIG FC and Unknown Boys with the latter being renamed as Los Leones FC for the upcoming season as the trio looked to renew old rivalry. Another team which brings us back to the Sharks archives were Royal Sports Club. In that game over at Marina South, the score 3-1 was in favor of the Sharks with Jeremy Chua, Michael Lim and Sam getting on the scoresheet.

Interlink FC and DHL FC who finished fourth and fifth in the division last season make up the rest of the teams while new-comer Raygun FC completes the eight team league as all teams looked focus for the new season and Cup ties which are scheduled during the season.

With the club’s participation in the upcoming National Football League just months away and several new faces which was recruited during off-season, it will be interesting how the club copes in their two-pronged approach in 2007.
