Central Park in hot soup
25/12/06

Central Park Football Club is currently in embroiled in another controversy after they failed to turn up for their re-scheduled fixture against Elias Park on 23rd December at Jalan Besar Stadium. Though the game has been awarded to Elias Park by default, the incident will incur the wrath of the organising committee - Football Association of Singapore.

Though the punishment to be meted out has yet to be forwarded to the club, the club may face sanctions with regards to the incident which may include a hefty fine or even being thrown out of the competition. When asked for comment from the management, they refused to comment and would rather present their case when the hearing convenes. However a member of the management team decides to speak on the condition of anonymity, ‘On face value, would the club have done it on purpose in view of the good position we are in? The club was told that a letter was sent dated 8 Dec but we didn’t receive it. It’s a tough case to prove but nonetheless, we’ll present a case to FAS since there seem to be a missing communication link.’

In the other game played at the weekend, Westridge thrashed Damai 10-5.
