The game was headed to a draw before Sharks were awarded a penalty late in the second-half after Heng Li was hacked down in the area. Up step Sharks regular penalty taker Salihin and he made no mistake from the spot to hand his team full points despite an unconvincing performance from the Sharks. Heng Li handed the Sharks an early lead in the first half after a beautiful pass from Michael who was making his league debut in the game. That pass somehow made up for his earlier miss when he failed to score with only Blackjack Utd custodian to beat. Despite taking the lead, Sharks failed to stamp their authority on the game with Blackjack coming close to an equaliser with several efforts which include 3 goal bound effort only to be denied by the crossbar. However, all it took was a mix-up in defence between Salihin and Arun to hand Blackjack with an equaliser just before half-time.

The game swung from end-to-end in the second-half but most of the action was in midfield with both teams working hard to take control but with neither side able to do so. Just when both teams were resigned to share the spoils, Blackjack defender literally handed Sharks the initiative to take maximum points which the Sharks duly obliged. Blackjack would be disappointed with the result after they failed to capitalise the chances that came their way especially in the first half which would have the Sharks dead and buried. Sharks on the other hand were just relieved to hear the final whistle.
